I have been meaning to send you a note expressing my thanks to you for recommending the installation of the surge protector on my electrical service box. On 09/09/2011, I happened to be out for the evening when a violent thunder storm passed through the area. When I came home, I noticed that one of my circuit breakers to the house had been tripped. In addition, my cable TV, Internet, and telephone were off line.

When the cable technician arrive, he advised me that the house must have taken a significant lightening strike. The cable modem, splitters, TV control box, and outside telephone interface were all "fried". My neighbor advised me that the lightening was the closest she had ever encountered. I then walked around to the side of the house and discovered that the door to my sprinkler control box was open and the control panel had been blown out of the box and hanging from a wire. The inside of the control box was scorched.

I am convinced that taking your advice kept the electrical surge from entering the internal house electrical system and doing a great deal of damage to a variety of electrical components. It appears that the damage was confined to the cable system and my sprinkler control box. Many thanks for educating me and providing the safety of your high quality surge protector. Please feel free to share my story when advising other customer regarding the benefits of this safety device.
